n “Future Feminism”, explored different subsections of fourth- and third-wave feminism in 2023, and then hypothesized about what the future of feminist activism would look like. The different concepts of traditional wives, TERFs, and womanism were explored. Understanding these concepts was vital to our research, and we used them as examples of what we did and didn't want to see in a feminist evolution.

The final pieces incorporated research and inspiration from streetwear and punk aesthetics. The garment has patches created using canvas fabric, ink, block printing, and altered clothing by fraying and fitting it. The final result is a fitted top, arm warmers, and a vest. The pieces can be worn separately or together and can be completely made using upcycled materials. The zine was created to go alongside the pieces and feature background information on our proposed 'fifth wave' of feminism, tutorials on how we created each garment, and definitions of the symbols featured on the vest.

Adult Clothing

Adult Clothing is a line of shirts designed to feature messages commonly found on baby clothing, focusing specifically on the degrading, sexual, or otherwise disturbing messages that would be seen as unacceptable for an adult to wear. These shirts are made in adult shapes and sizes. The tag on the shirt unfolds into a zine explaining how the message on the shirt diminishes children’s autonomy and how the children wearing shirts like it are often not old enough to know how to read or consent to the displayed message.

This product is designed as a shop drop, meaning a product placed in a store by a party not affiliated with said store. This would specifically be left in stores that carry the children’s clothes in question. When an adult finds these shirts in their section, they would be distressed. Adult Clothing aims to place that distress front and center, and ask people who may be or become parents if they really want these messages on their children. It displays these messages are harmful and dehumanizing, and how if anything it’s better for adults who can read and understand the meaning behind the “silly” message to wear these confusing shirts.

ADA Compliant Dress

By Noelle & Coffy

ADA compliant dress is a statement piece designed to make able people experience the constant worry of being unable to access environments as a disabled person. We researched environments that don’t accommodate and how people have been protesting and making statements about these environments. The 3 main features to the dress, which make it impossible to maneuver if conditions are not met, are the width of doorways, the height of railings, and the angle of ramps. When the dress goes through a non ADA compliant doorway, the dress is stopped and causes a scene, forcing the people around to think about accessibility and their own environments.
