Scope

Adult Clothes is a brand new clothing line consisting of adorable shirt designs taking inspiration from adorable baby clothes like "I like boobies" and "Lock up your daughters!" These shirts are just adorable on babies, so why not adults?

Goals

Communicating that clothes like these for babies are disturbing and forcing sexuality and gender roles on people with no idea what they're wearing. Seeing an adult wear some of the messages popular on baby clothing would be almost universally considered gross, condescending, and/or sexist. Adult Clothes aims to make it clear that those messages are equally gross, condescending, and sexist regardless of who displays them, and to stop the sexualization and degradation of children through clothing.

Concept

This project is designed to be a shopdrop, meaning we take the finished product and place it into stores such as Target and other major clothing retailers to spread our message. In the remaining time in this studio we hope to have a couple different final product shirts designed, as well as a small informational tag to be placed along with it. If this project were to continue past this studio we would design a few more types of shirts and make enough to actually start dropping them into stores.
