Part 1 : Listen to Episode 49 “Re: The Moon” of the podcast, Imaginary Advice
Create a list of adjectives and nouns.
Each of these words should be sourced from somewhere in the real world.
e.g. Do not make up these words from your head.
Instead find them in your recent texts, or an article you read recently. Open a book in the classroom and choose the first word you find.
Come up with several sentences that fit the following model.
The Moon is a [adjective] [noun]
"The moon is a dark record"
"The moon is a blue church"
"The moon is a haunted inflatable"
"The moon is an Aztec Supermarket"
"The moon is a feline sitcom"
Part 2
Use Tracery to create a sentence generator.
Your Generator will look like this.
{ "origin":"The moon is #adj.a# #noun#", "adj":["blue", "green", "yellow", "herbal", "historical"], "noun":["kite", "ocean", "pillow","calculator"] }
Add a collection of nouns and adjectives from previous texts we have read, your own writing, an online word generator, or some other source, as long as the word is not coming from your own imagination.
Generate a collection of these phrases, then pick 3.
Use these 3 sentences to write a short 3 paragraph story using the chosen sentence as the first sentence of each paragraph.
