Jade:

Misinformed Mayhem is a collaborative board game that aims to educate players about the spread of misinformation in modern society. The game is designed to represent the exponential spread of misinformation, which eventually reaches a plateau due to a lack of viable targets.By playing Misinformed Mayhem, players can gain a better understanding of the patterns and spread of misinformation. The game is specifically targeted towards teenagers, who are often the most susceptible to misinformation due to their high levels of online activity and lack of experience with discerning fact from fiction. The hope is that by educating young people about the dangers of misinformation, they will be better equipped to navigate the complex media landscape of the modern world.

The game is played on a physical board that features a neopixel heat map, which visually illustrates the spread of misinformation. Players can strategically place immune members of households on the board to prevent further spread of misinformation out of the household. This feature is intended to simulate the effect of immunization campaigns and education programs that can help to reduce the spread of misinformation.

Patrick:

Misinformed mayhem is a game to educate people where players need to work together to get rid of misinformation. This also helps show how misinformation can spread fast but can still be stopped since there will be a point where there are no more people to convince. Misinformed Mayhem is a game for people from the ages of 12-18 as those are some of the people most on social media. The goal is if we educate people, misinformation will stop being as much of a problem as people will know not to trust everything on the internet. The game is played on a board of hexagons with lights to help show whether or not a hex has been misinformed. And you can stop the spread out of a household by just educateing one member of a household. And hopefully this can show that even a little more education can make a big difference.

Ari:

Misinformed Mayhem is a game simulating the spread of misinformation. Misinformation is one of the most prevalent problems in modern-day society, over eighty percent of Americans have reported seeing misinformation during the COVID nineteen pandemic. Misinformation mayhem is meant to spread awareness about the prevalence of misinformation. It aims to  spread awareness about misinformation. Misinformation mayhem utilizes an LED array to represent individual people inside of communities. The game models the spread of misinformation through a pseudo-random number generator, representing the randomness of misinformation. As misinformation spreads throughout the board players can play one of three cards to shield or block the spread.
