You will research 3 plays. One example should be contemporary, the second should come from a different time period, and the last should be from a non-western culture. Based on what you learned today, analyze aspects of the play that draw from its precedents. For each play, make sure you cover these questions:

They broke the fourth wall to provoke thought

2. How do the design elements/scene/stage help convey the story?

They create a mystery that the audience has to solve to understand the play

    3. How could you present this play using a different style?

He could have made it very straightforward and easy to understand to get it to

a wider audience but remove the depth of the play

It was not a comedy, but it was well written and there were some funny moments. It was also written for the leading actor,

It is shown to use the material it was made out of to convey location and emotion. Some scenes were made of dark materials, to convey darker emotions.

  1. How could you present this play using a different style?

The play is a cross between a comedy and a tragedy, and you could choose to portray only one of the styles and make it very dark or very light-hearted and fun.

Lots of animal masks, and puppets to create the feeling of the area.

The set is made with colors designed to show the setting of nature.

You could use more emotion and harsh language to adapt it more to adults and make it more relatable to convey emotion in a way that people would empathize with.
