Sketches of 2.5D creatures - Penguin

Riana Schaff

Today we learned how to navigate Rhino to make two dimensional shapes. We learned how to use commands to input shapes and to change different settings, which allowed us to learn how to join the shapes, scale them, split them, etc... We then started working on our 2.5D creatures. Olivia and I decided to design a penguin. We also decided that we were going to try to get the penguin's beak to open and wings to move, by attaching string under both of the wings and under the bottom beak. We then started sketching what we visioned the final product to look like and decided that we want it to be six inches in height. We also started picturing how many cardboard cutouts we would need to make up the body of the penguin and estimated about 12. Tomorrow we will use Rhino to create the shapes, and then build the penguin.
