Over 70% of Americans eat toast regularly, its quick and simple and affordable. There is unfortunately one problem, its messy to make, from jam to peanut butter you are going to run into problems that will slow you down in the morning. Using a modular design, you cannot only dispense butter and jam onto toast but also honey and jelly into yogurt. It also uses a nozzle to heat up different condiments such as butter to get the perfect melt for an easy spread.

How might we automate the butter-jam toast process for people who eat it consistently and/or people with physical disabilities so that you can speed up your mornings?

The first thing we need to do is collect all the relevant data, we need to find how tall the item placed on the machine is so that we can set the spreading tool to the right height. After we do that we need to calculate the distance between where the arm currently is and the height we need to achieve, then use that distance to rotate our motors to reach that point. After we do that all that's left is to move the arm across the z axis and back and we are done.
