Easing Cerebral Palsy - Design Development

Studio Description

Rosa Weinberg

Cerebral Palsy is a disorder classified by difficulties with fine and gross motor skills. There are a wide range of symptoms, all caused by either a lack of oxygen or the underdevelopment of the areas of the brain associated with movement, balance and posture. In collaboration with Javier Leal of Mas Libertad Menos Barreras, students in this studio will be developing wearables and products to ease the lives of children with Cerebral Palsy and their caregivers. Mas Libertad Menos Barreras provides design and fabrication services to families who attend Instituto Nuevo Amanecer, an organization that provides education and medical care to low income families with children with Cerebral Palsy in Monterrey, Mexico.
