Today we learned the basics of Fusion. We learned how to make sketches and turn them into models. We started with a basic cup and then made a copy of a Toscaninis coffee cup. After that we learned more about constraints through a bicycle gear.

Today we learned how to use fusion to create 3D objects. We learned how to differnt sketch shapes, and make them specific dimensions, and then extrude them to make them 3D. I found fusion to be much easier to use than Rhino, because it was more specific. Using Fusion we were able to replicate a cup using the different dimensions.
For today's assignment I drew a sneaker. I sketched it from four different angles: perspective, top, right and front.
During the Genius Camp, students learn essential skills that they will use in their subsequent studios.
I sketchd my microwave.
I drew what the insode of my fridge looked like.
Today we transferred our sketch into Rhino, but hit many roadblocks. We were trying to create a penguin, by creating 2D cardboard pieces that would fit together to look like a penguin. Once we created the pieces that would make up the body of the penguin, we had to put them together on Rhino, so we could see how the pieces would fit together. We hit a few roadblocks along the way, but were stumped when we were creating the wings. We originally wanted to make them move, however we decided to hook them on instead. We then cut out the pieces using the laser cutter and started to assemble the penguin. The penguin was basically assembled, but we ran out of time to take a picture of it, because it took us a long time to figure out how to navigate Rhino to create specific elements.
For today's assignment, I sketched the hot water heater at my house.
Today we made a diagram of the Rubick's Cube in Illustrator. We started the class by learning the importance of diagrams and how they are helpful. We then watched a diagram video on how to make a dog house. We then listed what we noticed what was important in order to make a 'good' diagram and that wasn't too hard to identify. (step by step, brief and simple, visually engaging, every part has a clear purpose, animated/engaging, technically engaging, funny/humorous, and good marketing). Throughout the rest of class, Sotirios, taught us the main functions of illustrator and what they all meant. I felt like it was pretty easy for me, there were only a couple of times I was confused and didn't know how to do something. I really liked using illustrator because it was all about design and it helped me learn new ways to present, and how to make it more visually pretty for others to look at. Doing illustrator today, allowed me to attempt things on my own and help my peers out when they couldn't figure something out.
