LOCAL NEWS, COMMUNITY PAPERS and YOUTH MEDIA
STUDIO BRIEF:
This studio explores contemporary media influencers, community news media, and will build a student news platform (relating to news happening in our community) with an editorial board that privileges a student point of view. This studio is the contemporary take on ‘the school paper’-- creating a media channel for the school which will report on local issues and explore the values of local and public news media. This studio will help students develop their public voice in a safe and dynamic fashion so that they can speak-up and analyze public discourse, from legacy media to community television to Tic-Toc journalism.

--Photography, Video, and Audio are important for Social Media.
-- Some realities are easier to understand visually-- even as evidence, or 'proof'.
-- New Media Influencers are often more identifiable because we 'see' or 'hear' them.
-- New Media often feels more 'authentic' because we are able to see the people and not just read there words
