At the beginning of this studio, the prompt was to make a robot that can help solve ecological problems. To do this, the idea of Mag Bot was made to help with water pollution. Mag Bot is a water-based robot with a magnet that can lower down to collect metal trash from river beds. This is done using two brushless motors to propel the boat and two rudders connected to servos to turn the boat. To use Mag Bot, you would place it into a river from the side of the river; then, you can just start to control it via a PS4 controller connected to an ESP 32 on the bot via Bluetooth. Once you get where you need to, you can lower the magnet to collect items from the river bed, raise the magnet to drive the bot back to you, and then just take off the trash to throw it out.
Scout Sub is an autonomous submarine to monitor water quality in the Charles. A series or swarm of these bots would be deployed in the Charles to monitor water quality providing live data feed to people that like to use the river for recreational use safely. Allowing us to get better use out of such a cool local water source.
