Ember

Convenience, Luxury

The Ember is a mug that keeps your coffee warm all day, it is made of stainless steel

The mug is for when the user wants to keep a drink warm, but they don't have access to a heating element. They can use it at work, while traveling, or at home. The concept is sold as a convenient coffee heating device, but in reality, using it is quite a time intensive process. The user has to light the fire, keep it warm, and wait for the drink to heat up. The many steps forces the user to take a break from the fast paced schedules.

Project Statement

Who:

The concept would be advertised similarly to an ember, toward rushed workers.

When/Where:

when the user wants a hot drink, but they don't have access to a heating element. at work, while traveling etc.

Why/Impact:

-make people think about slowing down their life

-comment on things that are advertised to be fast and convenient but take a really long time.

Emotional Response:

This project forces the user into taking time out of their life to take care, and watch the fire. Some of the emotions that can be experienced with the Mug are confusion, warmth, happiness, angry, nostalgia, and calm.

Design Language:

Ancient inspired drinking vessels with rounded handles and smooth bodies along with some proto geometric designs
