The Wrapped in Rights project aims to bring attention to the ongoing issues of human rights and civil liberties in the Southeast Asian region by using food as a symbol of unity, community, and resilience. The dish created for this initiative is a modern take on Zong Zi, a popular Chinese cuisine that is typically enjoyed during the Dragon Boat Festival, honoring the life of Qu Yuan. The project seeks to highlight the struggles for human rights and civil liberties in Hong Kong and Taiwan by creating a sweet pineapple Zong Zi and a savory fishball Zong Zi, respectively, using traditional Chinese cooking methods. Through this project, the aim is to raise awareness and shed light on the ongoing conflict in the Southeast Asian region.
