Title: Material Exploration: Paper 

Goal: Students will familiarize themselves with analog dynamic paper folding techniques and apply them to the generic shapes that make up their sea creature’s form.

Vocabulary: Dynamic, Form, Texture, Iteration

Instructions:

Step 0: in the time allotted experiment and work through the 3 techniques described and demonstrated in class.  1) 1-Folded (or “unrolled) 3D Paper Form, 2) 1-Dynamic Origami, 3) 1-Paper Texturing technique.

Step 01: Cut out flat paper shapes that make up the different parts of your sea creature.

Step 02: Using each of the techniques demonstrated and practiced in steps 00 and 01 now create a 4th Exploration that compiles the skills learned into a part of your sea creature. 

Deliverable: 4 paper explorations total - 3 Pre-determined Folding Demos, Paper shapes that create the sea creature form, composite exploration. 

Documentation: 

Take a photograph of each of your explorations and post to the platform. Name each of them appropriately (Dynamic Origami, Shape, Texture, Combined). There should be 4 total, one from each category: Dynamic Origami, Shape, Texture, Combined.
