Laundry Machines use 4,500 to 13,500 gallons of water per year and 225 watts per hour of use, meaning that they are not eco-friendly. The Fitness Washer uses less water and no electricity, reducing waste per use, questioning the efficiency and accessibility of the normal laundry machine. This project can be installed in homes in the place of a regular washing machine. This washer is also for homeless people and people who cannot afford washing machines.

The washer has a system of pulleys that are attached to the washer. When the string is pulled, it turns the paddles in the washing machine. This technology does not require energy and has a self-cleaning bioreactor that cleans and reuses the water. A user uses the Fitness Washer by putting clothes in like a washing machine, pulls the handle and begins exercising.

The Fitness Washer is a washing machine designed to be human-powered It works similar to a rowing machine and is powered by humans fitness and exercise. This project is much more environmentally friendly than normal washing machines which use 500 to 13,500 gallons of water per year and 225 watts per hour of use. This project uses no energy at all and most of the water is recycled and cleaned by the bioreactor. This project was initially meant to be put in public areas and be accessible to all people, but it can also be placed in a home.

The Fitness Washer is made up of two chambers. The inner chamber houses the clothes, and the outer chamber includes the drain and the bioreactor. In the inner chamber, there are paddles that spin when a string is lifted. All of the water from the inner chamber goes into the outer chamber ready to be recycled or drained. Overall the Fitness Washer is a washing machine that allows you to easily wash your clothes and get fit, all while reducing your eco-footprint.
