The MTB Ramp is a collapsable bike jump that allows basic mountain biking trails more enjoyable and exciting. The jump consists of two folding frames that support the jump, three cross braces to add stability, and 11 detachable slats that the bike runs over.

We created our project because both Nathan and I love to go mountain biking. The only problem with this is that the type of mountain biking we like with lots of jumps and airtime is hard to find in suburban Massachusetts. While There are local trail systems, very few are designated for mountain bikes with mountain bike features. The MTB Ramp addresses this problem/scarcity with is a simple design assembled using a few pieces. There are two side pieces that make up the majority of the jump. They are split into 3 pieces that are connected with hinges, so they fold down into a smaller footprint. There are also 3 x braces connecting the side pieces for added stability. The x braces join with the side pieces using a wedged pin piece to keep tension on the joint when the jump is assembled. We needed a platform the bike would ride on, and because the jump doesn't have a flat face, we needed something that could bend. We settled on wooden slats that would go across the top of the jump, that are connected through a strap.
