Writing

In this studio my goals were to learn how to draw and paint better and develop my portfolio through writing and sequencing. I did a lot of figure drawing, concept sketching, and portfolio culmination. I received reviews from peers, admissions officers, and teachers on my portfolio and have used them to improve my portfolio. I also have been writing a lot. I think I somewhat succeeded in my goals to express my thoughts and self through my work, I engaged and persisted through tough spots in my progression of writing. I did a lot of sketching, drawing, and painting in this studio.

I grew my writing and time management skills in this studio. I also got a lot of figure drawing practice with a live figure model which has helped me better understand human proportions and how to transfer 3D to 2D. I worked on my sketching of landscapes and buildings from life as well which further helped me develop my skills of representing something 3D on paper. I worked with charcoal a lot which was something I had not done much of before, so I got better at using them for quick sketches and shading.
