This project was inspired by a common ride at the carnival known as the tea cup ride. It was also inspired by my own childhood memory of going to the fair with my family. The point of this project was to portray the message and theme of childhood nostalgia to help form the theme of a child’s bedroom. This project was made by lazer cutting, painting, measuring, glueing, and 3d printing. During this process I really enjoyed making this project because I was able to think freely and use the many resources around me. Not only that, I really enjoyed being able to get feedback from my coaches and peers in order to make edits to my project.
In this studio, I was able to grow in many ways. Firstly, I was able to work on my collaborative skills which has been a goal I have set for myself. Secondly, I was able to expand and learn more about myself in ways I didn’t expect. Some experiences from the studio that contributed to my growth was being able to learn new materials, such as lazer cutting and 3d printing. This growth will help impact my future at school. This is because when I get back to school I will be able to use the skills I learned at NUVU in upcoming projects.
