Artists Statement: As an artist, I used to absolutely love making art for myself. I grew up with it. But my health got in the way, and I lost my passion. In recent years, I've been slowly getting back in to art, but not in the same way. Instead of making for myself, I decided to make for others. My health has shaped the way I perceive creating into this ability to make others feel emotion. Making other people happy or nostalgic motivates me to keep making art. For specifically this studio, I focused more on representing my health journey and showing the symptoms of my illness. I want to explain to people what the experience is like. In this studio I made a self portrait series showing the symptoms I experience.

In this studio I focused much less on the social aspect unlike last studio. I wanted to focus on giving myself lots of work and generally fabricating. I remember making the face series and then immediately jumping into something new instead of just laying around. I almost always had something to do. There were days where I was demotivated, but almost always I was working.
