Writing

Throughout this studio, I have learned more about myself in a multitude of ways. First I learned what I am looking for in my college experience. For instance, on the tours I took I realized that having a community outside of the classroom is incredibly important to me. Using this information I was able to research more schools that have similar communities. Along with this I also was able to learn more about the admission process and what schools are obtainable to me. Through this process, I created a revised college list with not only the majors I was interested in but also the portfolio requirements that go along with each major. This allowed me to have a clear understanding of what I needed to add to my portfolio.

In addition to this, I have learned tools that allow me to complete work at a faster rate. At the beginning of the studio, I was struggling with procrastination and feeling lost overall. Through a series of meetings with my coach, I was able to clear away this lost feeling and create a list of objectives in order which allowed clarity on what tasks to complete. Lastly, I learned an abundance of writing skills just through the different tasks that required that writing.

After this studio, it's incredibly important that I continue to push my college application so communicating with coaches on the next steps was important for me. I now have a strong sense of what needs to be done in the future. I plan to have further meetings with coaches to revise my college essay.
