        On average, a golf course uses over 1 million gallons of water daily, about 2 Olympic-sized swimming pools worth of water. You can also look at this as 7 million gallons a week, 30 million gallons a month, and 365 million gallons a year. When there are around 15,500 Golf courses in the US, all using that much water every year, that means 5.518 trillion gallons of water are being used to maintain the golf courses in the US. Eco Golf is an irrigation system created to help only use the minimum amount of water to accurately maintain a golf course's health and aesthetics to save water in the country. Using water on golf courses makes golf more sustainable for the environment. Water waste is one of the biggest problems our country and world face today, so when seeing these numbers, it became clear the need to design something that would help decrease that water waste from golf courses by as much as possible. 

       As my partner and I are two people who love golf and play competitively, we knew we wanted to create something related to it, so we first looked at the problems on golf courses, and the first thing we came across was water waste. EcoGolf will help make golf a more sustainable activity. The system created works by using multiple different moisture sensors that will sense when the moisture has dropped to a level lower than what it is needed to be at and will alert the watering system that there needs to be water added in that specific place. This loop continues, and there is only the correct amount of water in the grass. Creating a healthy golf course but not overusing water when it doesn’t need to be.

EcoGolf is a golf course irrigation system created to minimize the amount of water usage on golf courses. The average golf course will use around 1 million gallons of water a day, some in hotter climates will use up to 2 million gallons of water. This is golf's biggest problem. EcoGolf does this by giving the exact of amount water to a space, because it is in a grid-based system it does not over or underwater certain places of the grass. In the US water usage and waste is one of the biggest problems. The EcoGolf irrigation system is meant to help make golf a sustainable activity. 

EcoGolf will help make golf a more accessible, reliable, and sustainable activity. It will help allow a greater audience to play golf. The system works by having sensors that sense when the moisture has dropped to a level lower than what it is supposed to be it will add water to that certain place to just give it enough. This loop continues to happen and there is only ever the correct amount of water in the grass.
