Ollie's Breif:
Fishermens Friend Is a device to help fishermen become more efficient on the water. It does so by tracking how many fish the user has caught at each one of their spots and tracking the time spent at their spots. The nest thermostat was a big inspiration in the design of the device. Nest has figured out a way to be really minimalistic while also having high functionality. Fishermens Friend tries to emulate nest’s twisting feature.
The device was brought into fruition to help fishermen of all ages have more action on the water by giving them more information about their fishing patterns. Not only is the device designed for solo fishermen but it was aslo designed to help a group of fishermen decide on when to switch up the fishing spot. Knowing how long one has been at a spot can help aid the group on making a decision on when to leave to go to another spot. Fishemens Friend was designed with rhino to to produce the 3d printed part on the bottom and rhino was used to laser cut the part on top that is used to hold the lcd display in place. To power the lcd display we used an arduino and arduino code.
