We are getting ready to get back to school! We hope everyone enjoyed their summer and is excited about the upcoming school year.

We would like to get started by giving some general information before students come back to school. Please read carefully below for important information and requirements for students participating in NuVu’s Fall 2022 Term. 

General School Information

Tuesday, September 6, 2022 is the First Day of School

The school schedule will be Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 2:50 PM

Find us at 450 Massachusetts Ave, 2nd Floor, Cambridge, MA 02139.

Students arriving by MBTA should exit at Central Sq. and walk two blocks east towards MIT. Dismissal is at 2:50 PM each day. The best pick-up area is on the corner of Mass Ave & Brookline St.

Forms

We will need to collect enrollment forms before the start of the school year. Please complete and return these forms attached no later than Friday September 2, 2022.

Student Support and Expectations

We have created a student handbook for students and parents to be able to reference. This handbook is an explanation of our school, expectations of students, and a collection of information students need to make the most of their NuVu experience. This is not a typical list of rules and regulations, but a result of many conversations with students, coaches, and staff. 

The handbook was born out of students’ call for transparency, communication and accountability from NuVu staff. Our goal is to hold ourselves accountable and put forth a framework for student expectations and autonomy. We will be sending this to you by September 2. 

Studio Supplies & Expectations

Each student will need the following items for studio each day

A laptop (with administrator access) 

    An unlined sketchbook and writing utensils (pencils or pens)

Laptops

Each NuVu student must have a laptop and an email address to complete project work over the course of their studios and to communicate with their coaches and peers. Most laptops purchased within the last two to five years will work. For more detailed information on what we recommend, please see the attached Hardware & Software Requirements document.
