Thesis Statement

We hope to facilitate playing DnD in larger groups. DnD is a game optimized for small groups of players, when these groups increase in size, gameplay can become tedious and chaotic. The current size of NuVu’s DnD club means that simple tasks like visiting a merchant can take an hour. This means less time for fun adventures and stories. We also hope to make DnD campaigns less intimidating for new players. Our project will streamline gameplay by creating physical objects to represent spells, shops, and character sheets.

Dice Towers

Dice towers are a tool to show fairness when rolling. Dice towers are also commonly stylized to fit the mood of the campaign. Dice towers are a very good example of a visually well implemented tool.

Status Effect Rings

Status effect rings are a visual representation of effects. Keeping track of effects is generally very confusing and tedious. With effect rings you just place one at the base of whatever mini that is receiving the effect. These are a good example of a product designed to simplify combat.

Well Designed Shop Systems

Shop systems in most video games will display items that you can purchase, their properties and their prices. Buying items at a shop in DnD takes a long time because the DM often reads the items and their proprieties out loud to the players.
