IMPORTANT | Updates to NuVu Mask Policy

NuVu Families - 

Thank you for your continued support this year as we navigate new changes and guidance related to the COVID-19 pandemic. After assessing a few rounds of community feedback, monitoring other local schools and reflecting on new CDC guidelines for masking in schools, we are updating our mask policy for NuVu students and staff.

Please take a moment to read through the upcoming changes below.

What IS changing:

  • NuVu will shift to a mask-optional approach starting Monday April 4, 2022
  • NuVu will relax the N95 mask requirement as of today, Wednesday March 9. Face coverings are still required, but single layer surgical or cloth masks are now acceptable until April 1
  • Some studios will no longer have a remote option
    • Students and families must let NuVu know of planned absences at least one week prior to the start of a new studio so that we may work with your student to schedule make-up studio time
    • Please see academic calendar here for studio session dates

What IS NOT changing:

  • Routine COVID-19 testing; we will continue the current testing schedule 
    • Next test scheduled for Thursday March 10
  • All students and staff must be tested for COVID-19 prior to returning onsite after Spring Break

Earlier this afternoon, coaches summarized these changes for students. They also talked with students about how important it is for all of us to be respectful regarding the range of perspectives within our community. We sent out a sign-up sheet for students who want to talk more tomorrow or Friday about any questions or concerns they may have. 

As we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our community, we recognize there may be times throughout the remainder of the year when we will have to reinstate a mask mandate for students, faculty, and staff.
