Wrestling Elvis:
a wrestling video game created for Elvis, a high school student with impaired fine motor control. The design allows Elvis to controls his character in the game by hitting drum pads attached to his walker.
Wrestling Elvis is a video game and controller designed for Elvis, a student at English High who has difficulty speaking and with fine motor control, and may have some cognitive difficulties. In his spare time, Elvis loves to play wrestling games and to play the drums. Wrestling Elvis combines these hobbies into a wrestling game made in Unity, in which two players try to knock each other off a platform. Elvis controls his character by hitting drum pads that attach to his walker. The drum pads use force sensors to detect the timing and force of the hit, and code translates this information into movement of the character. Elvis has trouble using his standard X Box controller because of his fine motor control difficulties, but drumming allows for bigger movements over which he has control.
