Nanotechnology studio coach Dr. Ryan Wartena shares his thoughts on Days 5 & 6 of the studio. "Nanotechnology of Growing Architecture" studio by Dr. Ryan Wartena 9/29/10 By the end of the 5th day of the NuVu NANOGA studio all were successful in generating their own unique version of Metatron's cube, an exercise that most never attempt and those who do take years to complete. We spent Day 6 of the studio in deep discussion of full cycle processes and the NANOGA circularly critiqued each others 'cradle to cradle' interpretation of existing systems. During the critique we collectively developed intentional Seed Technologies to apply nanotechnology, growth processes and integrated locality. The projects include: A computational-bacterial bio-reactor to home recycle plastic bottles into any form Two clothing recycle processes where fibers are crystallized into building materials and new clothing patterns Two methods of growing buildings, one is a method of growing a new house from old houses with bone and vegetation architectures and the other grows skyscrapers from avocados (and returns as an avocado grove) A return to the Earth shoebox that makes plants from shoes An iPhone processing tree (that grows more Apples) Two integrated food cycles, one for the combination of grains and berries to generate corn and a mega-seed to generate a carrot cake, in form And a neural imagination seed
