This device is a light that does not depend on an energy source, rather it is a bio luminescent light. It has animal engravings on all 12 sides, one for each Chinese new year animal. It exists because as we progress into the future, we need new ideas to grasp onto. Electricity is very harmful to earth, creating it takes many resources and ultimately does worse rather than good. We rely too heavily on electricity, and this light is a good first step to stray away from that. We are helping people all around the world , and can be us for celebrations. Each of the tiles have algae in them, which light up on their own. This causes the space around them to be lit up. Clips hold together all 12 tiles, making the shape of a dodecahedron. This design is for anyone and everyone. Whoever wants a decoration, or just wants to help the planet, this is the light for you.

The Dodecahedron Lamp is a light source that does not rely on electricity. The lamp acts as a home for microorganisms and uses them to create light. Each one of its twelve sides are engraved in detail with one of the animals from the Chinese New Year in order to keep the lamp visually stimulating. It is designed to be applicable for many different types of people, ranging from someone living in the city to someone living far out in the suburbs, so we kept its purpose rather general: as a lighting source for use in the home.
