Gymnastics Life

Saba Ghole
Photos by Alec Dede Gymnastics has been a part of my life for over twelve years. As a Boston resident, I attend New England Sports Academy where I practice on the boys gymnastics team. Six days a week, four hours a day, I am in and out of the gym. I guess you could say its my home away from home. Gymnastics is an excellent foundation for all other sports. It builds coordination, flexibility, strength, speed, self-esteem, confidence, and friendships. Each of these attributes can help excel you in any other activity. It is a great way of expressing yourself, through the motion of your body. Instead of talking about how you feel, you can show it by the way you move. I took photos of my gym I go to, portraying the lives of many different gymnasts. I tried capturing the dedication these guys display while detaining the hard-working, yet fun aspect of the sport.

Thoughts From a Coach: A New Perspective on Teaching

Saba Ghole

After co-coaching the "Do-It-Yourself Devices" studio, Jeff Lieberman shares his thoughts on what he learned on how to create a more effective learning environment for the students. After the first day, Jeff realized he had to adapt his teaching methods to take into account a very critical element of learning: emotional motivation. Here's his blog post "Do-It-Yourself Devices at NuVu" from "in evolution: writings about the process."

What kind of questions do the sci-fi films bring up? Philosophical? Political? Pscyhological?
For instance, what does it mean to be a human? Are there people like us in the outer space? Are people paranoid about the existence of the advanced intelligence? What role does memory play in forming one's identity? Where do we come from and we are we going? Can machines take control over humans?
How are different historic events rendered through sci-fi film?
