Tri-Cube

Janice Tabin

The goal of Tri-Cube is for the user to become aware of how much they allow themselves to be free, and the impact that their own mentality has. Tri-Cube adds a new element to the aerial cube, three parts, giving more range of movement and creativity. It helps people think more creatively and in more depth about their movement and introduces a metaphor about a person's influence on their own freedom. It is a wooden structure suspended from the ceiling, similar to an aerial cube but introducing more varieties of movement. The user explores the structure by experimenting with how their movements and positions change depending on the composition of the three frames and the person's placement amongst them.
