؜A material study using silicone cast pieces and 3d printed molds, to create a realistic puppet for a practical effect purposes. This will include a catalogue detailing the process and techniques used for future students.

Why

؜I am very passionate when it comes to practical effects and puppetry. While this project is motivated by my passion, its also motivated by wanting to make this process and these materials more approachable to the students at NuVu.

The Rancor from star wars is an excellent showcase of practical effects and puppetry, all of you should know it and seen it in action, its a great example for puppetry and casting.

Teeper is a puppet created by Adam Dougherty and Kreature Kid studio. They extensively detail their process. This precedent will help me with the actual fabrication aspect of the project.

؜ I mentioned the selection of a character before. The reason for this is that this OI about puppetry and casting not about character design an creation. I really enjoy halo, seemed like a fun character to re-create.

؜My project A Tea Set To Remember is a recreation of a tea set gifted to me after my best friend at a young age passed from cancer, I still have the set and cherish every piece.

Why

؜I picked my project because Jamy and I were very close and I was one of her only friends. I want not only to honor her but for people to know her and remember her in all her wonder and beauty. I also want younger girls that are in the same boat as Jamy was to know they are seen and even though they might not have known Jamy personally that they aren't alone.

؜As a group, we're demonstrating upcycling and how it serves as a solution to environmental damage and struggles regarding personal style. Through the rise of fast fashion, yearly, 100 million tons of clothes are placed into landfills, causing unnecessary pollution. And with the process of upcycling, we will highlight how it provides a sustainable solution by transforming old clothes and fabrics into new, valuable items.

Why

؜In present day, us teenagers have difficulty finding personal style and usually fall for the quick solution fast fashion provides. And although youth partake in a huge role regarding environmental activism, we hope to provide them with even more ways to help. And as teenagers ourselves, our project is meant to show how actively caring for the environment through upcycling and developing ur own personal style can co - exist.

؜When I was in third grade, I was diagnosed with dyslexia. After that, I went to Carroll School, which is a school for dyslexic kids, from fourth grade all the way to eighth grade

My time at Carroll allowed me to learn with my dyslexia and grow as a student through a community that understood my brain

؜When I was applying to high school, I experienced assumption. My interviewer's son had dyslexia, and because he struggled, my interviewer believed I would too.

This made me want to help people understand that a person's experience with dyslexia can be entirely different from the person sitting next to them
