Dandelion Montessori Coop 2017-2018

Logging in to the platform for the first time

School Admin

Hi everyone,

Here's a screencast to show you how to log into the nuvu platform (https://dandelion.nuvustudio.com ), where our teachers will be posting information about your specific child (private to you) as well as information about the school (public to community members). It also will serve as our platform for community conversation.

  • Intro Post: Please log in and update the post you see in School Resources > Family Contact > Discussion with your child's name/family name as the title. We welcome all families to share their contact information and a bit about your child. Posting a recent picture will help other families get to know your children.
  • Please also update your avatar.
  • The video shows you how to do both of these things.

Please comment or email me at atmarcus@gmail.com if you have trouble! And then play around! Click to see what's there and get the conversation going!

Some in our community have chosen not to post pictures of their children online, or to do so with intention. Please remember not to share pictures of the children outside of our community (i.e. don't share on facebook or other social media) without getting permission from all parents of students in the picture you are sharing.

Andrew

Here's a tutorial that shows you how to create a bookmark for NuVu on your home screen (sorry Android users, I don't have an Android, but you can do the same thing)

Hello Dandelion!

I wanted to let you know that I will be teaching a Kids Yoga Camp in Harvard Square for the weeks after Dandelion ends and before the summer program begins.  June 25-29, and the next week July 2-6

If you need some coverage for those weeks, I am offering a camp that is available  9:00-12:00, or 9:00-3:00pm.   (If a Dandelion child needed early drop-off or later pick-up, I would be happy to arrange that with them, it might involve them walking home with Shalom and I after camp ends)
Shalom will be at camp all week, so your child would have both of our familiar faces at camp.

About Radiant Child Yoga

Young yogis who attend will learn yoga and breathing exercises to keep their bodies strong and flexible, along with relaxation exercises to help them feel calm, confident and connected. We will also explore creativity through daily yoga-inspired crafts, and delve into community and cooperation skills with partner and group yoga. Games such as Yoga Freeze Dance, Detective Yoga and the Intuition Game will keep children curious and engaged. We will have snack time each day at 10:30, so please pack a nut-free snack for your child to enjoy.

Space is limited to 12 children per week for the morning program and seven children for the extended day program. Lumina will be joined by an assistant teacher for the full length of every day.

About the Instructor

Lumina Gershfield Cordova, M.Ed., RCYT, has taught yoga to children and families in Cambridge and Somerville since 2012.  She was trained in Radiant Child Yoga by the amazing Checka Antifonario and assisted at GNS Yoga program for the two years before leading the program last summer.  Lumina's heart-centered teaching strives to awaken and nurture mind-body awareness in her young students and to empower them to have focus and peace amidst our busy tech filled modern lives. Radiant Child Yoga was founded by Shakta Khalsa (a Montessori Teacher) in 1999 as one of the country's first children's yoga programs. Lumina is also trained in Kundalini Yoga by Mahan Rishi and Siri Bani Kaur, teaches annually at the Millis Ashram Fall Fest and holds a Master's Degree in Art Education from Portland State University.  She is the mother of two young yogis, age 4 and 6, and she is married to an Accountant/Kundalini Yoga Teacher from Peru.
