Polyalphabetic Cipher

A polyalphabetic cipher is a substitution, using multiple substitution alphabets. The Vigenère cipher is probably the best-known example of a polyalphabetic cipher, though it is a simplified special case. The Enigma machine is more complex but is still fundamentally a polyalphabetic substitution cipher.

Project Thesis

One Name Away is an interactive two-player cipher game inspired by polyalphabetic encryption techniques. The puzzle is designed as a museum exit challenge featuring a rectangular box with rotating letter panels. Each side of the box displays different letters, and at the top, the name "VICTORIA" serves as the cipher key. Players must collaborate to decode a hidden message using the cipher, to solve the puzzle, and "escape" the exhibit. The experience blends cryptography, collaboration, and spatial reasoning in a personalized, immersive format.
