When I first got to NuVu a space with so few students you would think that it would be such a tight nit group of only 35 students. Near the beginning of my NuVu "career" I also began to love combat robotics a hobby that might be misunderstood as "violent" because it has "combat" in the name; but is really a space of creativity compassion and competition. After my first combat robot event seeing the divide within NuVu and having been part of several other influential communities being Scouting America, The Cambridge Hack space, and my First Robotics team I knew the Impact that something like combat robotics could have as those spaces showed me what supportive adventurous and creative communities could do. Something to tie the community together, something that would teach valuable skills while everyone was working towards a common goal. NCRL or NuVu combat robotics league has been around for several years and we have been hosting multiple competitions a year. We have had lots of student that are interested in combat robotics be overwhelmed by the complexity of combat robotics, or there are students that don't want to put in the time to create a robot but still want to be part of the competition. In addition lots of students have questions that can overload the group of student leads which can overwhelm them with sometimes repetitive questions. To try and combat this and better support the team I have created resources that are more accessible and a kit that lowers the barrier of entry making it easy for student to answer questions on there own and for people to jump in built a kit and be part of the fun.
