Thesis Statement

A lot of people live in apartments and like gardening, but do not have enough room for a garden.

Growing your own food or herbs is a good way to save money, to some people it is also a quite enjoyable hobby, and it also just looks good as a decoration.

With the hydroponic planter and moss terrarium it will not take up much space, will save you money, and it will look good as a decoration.

The planter is made of mirrored acrylic, white acrylic, and wood, while the terrarium is only made of mirrored acrylic and clear acrylic. The planter has holes in weird-ish way to make it stronger and easier to put the plants in different groups. The whole thing is held together with notches and superglue.

Worked on design, made models, assembled tested, model worked-ish but had a lot of imperfections.

Iterations Day 3-4

Improvised design, made model, mode came out satisfactory, made out of wood and acrylic, problem occurred with notch size, resized notches, remade out of wood and acrylic, glued, built successfully, project finished.

Thesis Statement

This project aims to explore the line between art and reality by incorporating hand drawn sketches into real photographs. The idea behind this project came from my desire to practice taking photos, drawing, and adding emotions into my images using editing. This is important because the skills I learned during this project will help me in future projects. To improve at each of these skills, I took photos of Cambridge and edited sketches I made into the images to convey certain moods.

Project Statement

I'm going to draw people around Cambridge and edit those drawings into photos of Cambridge every day for 5 days to improve my sketching abilities along with my photography and editing skills so that by the end of the project I will have a collection of mixed-media photos to show people or display in my house.

When thinking about our time at NuVu so far, there are many symbols that come to mind. There are simple shapes for our abstraction unit, cameras for our photography unit, and and a toolbox for our woodworking unit. When faced with the question of how to represent our time at NuVu far, the best way is to display it on one of the few materials that is used everyday: our backpacks. To represent our time at NuVu, I have taken the symbols most important to describing our current experience, and turned them into keychains and wall art.

Thesis Statement

Walking around Central Square, the culture, personality and overall aesthetic of the town leaves a great impression on diffrent people for different reasons. My goal was to capture these reasons in a collage of different places around and in Central that made an impression on me!
