Writing

Throughout this studio, we have been learning about gothic literature, coding, story building, drawing, etc. We analyzed many different pieces of gothic literature to understand it more, and we then went through a process to learn basic skills that we would need to create our final product, a horror game. This consisted of mini-lessons on coding, comic creation, drawing, and dialogue/writing practice. After practicing these skills, we then worked on creating stories individually, which eventually evolved into group work. My group's story is about 3 astronauts who deal with horrific events in space, specifically on Titan. They go insane due to a strange fog and start to stop trusting each other. The story is supposed to be suspenseful and horrific.

This project was quite beneficial to my learning and skill-building since I learned and sharpened quite a few skills—specifically dialogue writing and story building, as I mentioned in the paragraph above. I got a lot of writing practice which will help me with essay writing and reflections when I return to Beaver. I learned the fundamentals of code too and now know a bit about how to make a list out of code as well as a randomized generated sentence. Overall, it was a very beneficial project for me.
