Vessel's of containment
Lloyd Graves IV, Fall 2023
Here are my 3 final models the first of a willow tree. The second of a representation of time before, during, and after an accident. The third is a representation of a specific part of a memory.
Final Models
For my project I decided to go specifically to memories from when I was littler where I learned things whether big or small that have contributed to my identity in some way. For example, I have a portion of my project dedicated to a time when me and my mom would take branches from a willow tree and would take the different ones and would assemble them into small dome branch huts. For me being really little this was so cool and got me excited about building and thinking in ingenuitive ways. My project or projects is not only about the big things but the things that are most significant to me because my belief is not that the biggest event to take place to you is always the most significant. The ones that are significant are the ones you tell to your friends and the ones you can remember the best, the ones you show off with, they are the ones you are most proud of.

sketching & drawing
for this project there are 3 main portions of my project. First off is my representation of a willow tree where I took leds to represent sparks of creativity and opportunity and also used craft wire to create a form that resembled the emotion of the tree. Next the second portion of my project is dedicated to creating a piece related to a severe bike accident where the purpose was to show the time before the accident how it was normal and consistent, then during which it is jagged and un uniform, not planned. Then after where it has hope for new possibilities it is almost to the original nice normalcy. Finally the third portion of my project where I decided to show the story of me and my dad getting a new toy breaking it then after a long time fixing it. I tried to show this working together and partnership portion of this memory through creating a device that required two people to perform the desired task.
This studio I decided to work on envisioning, engaging, persisting, and collaboration. First off, my growth in envisioning was successful because I was able to come up with a lot of conceptual designs that I was really happy with which isn't in many of my other projects where it is usually a little more straight forward. My growth level on engaging was also good, I felt like even if I was sketching or doodling I was listening and if I had something I wanted to say I would say it. Next is persistence which I felt was average, some days really well where I got a lot done and some days I was lost and unsure to go for this one I would say I stayed the same or got a little worse tho I think it is mainly due to a hard schedule and will improve in the future. Finally, for collaboration it could have been better because my level of focus made it difficult to keep up on giving and receiving feedback and concept discussions with others for brainstorming.
