The Art of Sound

What is the Art of Sound?

Andrew Todd Marcus and Jessica Hickey
1 / 1

We as humans use sound all the time. We rely on sounds to communicate with each other. Unexpected noises may warn us of danger, others noises trigger emotions. The sounds we hear tell us a lot about our surroundings. Many animals also use sound.  Is sound is an art form? How can you show it?  How can sound solve everyday problems?

In the spring of 2017, we will be exploring “The Art of Sound.” We will explore what makes sound. How do we interpret sound? How can we make sound available to all audiences? How is sound a part of our everyday lives? Can music create works of art? Could you make the first 3D printed hybrid instrument? How can a laser cutter show sound waves?

Come explore, CREATE, and collaborate with Arizona Science Center’s CREATE U -- where art, engineering, and science collide!

I read an article about this device and I thought this video might give you all some inspiration and ideas for your Music Landing projects. Accessibility is a big issue with that space so let's all try to keep that in mind as we go forward with this project.
