Project Statement
We seek to create a version of Battleship that abstracts and enhances the relationship between siblings as rivals through modifying the physical design of the game board, pieces, and gameplay mechanics.

Game Testing
1) The Tilting board is very annoying, and makes the game quite difficult to play.
2) The larger side of the board, representing the older sibling, has all of the pieces, and the smaller side has to ask for the pieces; it is very demeaning, just as a sibling rivalry is.
3) We did not put legends on the board, and we will continue to not. It creates chaos, communication issues, and bickering; it's perfect for creating sibling rivalry. It forces players to find new ways to communicate, in a way that siblings can create their own language.
4) We ended up legitimately fighting while playtesting. The game is truly aversive to play, as intended.
Observations
Core Game Loop
Core Game Loop
Game Elements & Rules
- Game plays with traditional battleship attacking system of coordinate squares, hits, misses, and sinking ships
- The pieces represent things siblings commonly fight over
Game Elements & Rules
Game Elements & Rules
- The 'Tattle Token' is a special piece which the 'younger sibling' starts with.
- The opposing player must tell the tokenholder if one of their misses is adjacent to a ship, and share the location of the square that is adjacent to their ship.
- When used, the token must be given to the other player
