Confronting Art is an enclosed installation piece where an individual can walk in it and sit in a Tahj Rust painting. Confronting Art would be used as an enclosure in front of each site on the Black heritage trail. The example used within this project was the Charles street meeting house because there is a Tatte there so when people go to eat they can sit in the enclosure for a different experience where they become aware of the trail and of tajh rust's work. They would be sitting in a painting of a woman in a car. and she would be sitting across from the user almost as if the user is forced to interact with her and confronts her.

This project is focused on tajh rust and his artwork focuses on the relationship between black individuals in spaces and highlighting the subject of his piece while making them blend well with the area around them. usually, he paints a scene that uses contrasting colors to highlight certain objects. So when someone looks at his painting there eye moves to different places. keeping this in mind, This project was inspired by the atelier des lumières which is a museum in Paris that created rooms where famous paintings are projected onto the walls. The museum also changes the proportions of each painting and with purpose. For example for Gustav Klimt's pieces, they focus on the subject and putting the subject in the middle of the room as well as focusing on Gustav's famous patterns. What's also nice is how the atelier des lumières changed the proportions and changed paintings that people thought couldn't be changed. this inspiration was taken into this project and inspired to mess around with proportions and someone's field of view. 

This project is about bringing awareness to the trail and showing a story on a site. as well as emphasizing black history and culture.
