In hospitals, people practice procedures on simulated versions of the area they are working with. Unfortunately, those simulators take a really long time to make. Our group decided that we would try to help with that, by speeding up the process in any way possible, allowing more doctors to better practice these skills more often.
With faster simulators, doctors can practice these skills more often, as well as having more doctors try them in a given amount of time. This would create an environment where doctors could practice more, lowering the chance of something going wrong. Additionally, this would allow med students to better learn these procedures. In order to accomplish this, we created and 3D printed molds for the organs, using dragon skin, ecoflex, and other special effects products to create the organs and simulated skin.
