Jacob was home schooled from the start of his education through high school, spending his free time learning to program computers and make game modules. At UMass he studied mathematics while working as a software engineer at the same company for a decade. Neither isolation nor rigid academic classes ever seemed like the right way to learn. Working together with mentors and peers to solve problems is his favorite way to expand his knowledge. Today he spends most of his time experimenting with electronics and machining at the Artisan's Asylum hacker space in Somerville, MA.
