Collage goes in sequence, begins at Terrace Street (Image 1) and ends on Parker Street (Image 3).

Project 2.2 - Ritual Collage

Sean Reis

My ritual collage model breaks up a ritualistic feast into three distinct "C's". The first "C" which is the lowest part of the model shows conjugation. Members will enter the space at random, thus making it chaotic. The next level is consume. Here it is more organized since people will be sitting at tables to begin to eat. The final and highest point of the model is celebrate. Here is where after eating, members will celebrate by dancing in a practiced ritualistic dance.

Mission Hill Feast

Follows the four C's

  • Conjugate: Members of the feast will arrive to the bottom of the site to greet one another. Friend's and family will show up and embrace one another after the long work day.
  • Consume: After conjugation, people will begin to disperse into the main feast and prepare the main dinning tables. The head chef's will light the central fire and begin to cook an assortment of meats and vegetables. Everyone will sit around the central fire, hold hands, and give grace. The head chef's will begin to disperse the main dishes around the central fire in special manner. Once everyone has their plate, food can now be consumed. Special toast's will be given to any great accomplishments for the day.
  • Celebrate: After the food is consumed, everyone will head up the stairs to the highest point of the structure. Music will be accompanied by a practiced dance and everyone will celebrate. Everyone should be dancing and happy over the joy's of the good feast and a healthy life.
  • Clean-up: Once the celebratory dance is over, everyone will make their way back to the main hall and help clean up the dinning area. Once everything is cleaned and set for the next feast, everyone can then leave and resume their daily lives.

Project 1.2 - Site Mapping

These sectional site models are my interpretation of separation in the Mission Hill site. The rectangles are in accordance to the height of the shrubbery and trees on the site.

Project 2.1 - Site "Separation"

Sean Reis

These iterations further explore "seperation" in the site. The models look more into some of the smaller aspects of the site such as density and enclosure which all tie into the idea of seperation.
