Summer 2019 PreVu 2
Open to : Ages 8-10

PreVu is a studio-based experience to unleash young kids’ creativity and imagination.

NuVu is a place where young students grow their spirit of innovation. Immersed in our design process, students use their curiosity and creativity to explore new ideas and make their concepts come to life. Our model is based on the architecture studio model. For each program, we use imaginative themes to frame activities in which students dive into hands-on design, engineering, science, technology, art and more!

This Summer, we are beginning the ninth season of PreVu, our kids program for young innovators. This season, we're doing something new. We're launching our first ever mini-studio program for PreVu 2, open to ages 8-10! The mini-studio will run for 5 days from July 22-26, Monday through Friday, 9am to 1pm. We're excited to offer this week-long studio program and hope to continue to build such experiences for our students moving ahead.

During this studio, kids will be introduced to a real-world topic and use their creative problem solving, critical thinking and innovation skills to make and build solutions. During the studio, our young innovators will learn about the design process, new technologies and various analog and digital tools (such as 3D printing and laser cutting) to create amazing work.

Theme & Topics

Our theme this summer is “Bioinfinity.” We’re exploring the resilience of nature and the inventions, products, and tools that encourage us to live in harmony and synchronicity with our natural world. We’ll we’ll research endangered species and the natural world, and then explore the design of robots that take inspiration from nature and biology!

In this studio, NuVu Coaches will frame the challenge within a larger topic and encourage kids to develop their ideas through an iterative process over the course of the activity. Throughout the program, kids will enhance their problem solving, collaboration and making skills, and with persistence, they will learn to think big and deeply about the world and people around them.
