Summer 2018 PreVu
Open to : Ages 5-7
PreVu is a studio-based experience to unleash young kids’ creativity and imagination.
NuVu is a place where young students grow their spirit of innovation. Immersed in our design process, students use their curiosity and creativity to explore new ideas and make their concepts come to life. Our model is based on the architecture studio model. For each program, we use imaginative themes to frame activities in which students dive into hands-on design, engineering, science, technology, art and more!
This Summer, we are beginning our sixth season of PreVu, our kids program for young innovators. In each Session, kids (ages 5-7) will be introduced to a real-world problem and use their creative problem solving, critical thinking and innovation skills to make and build solutions. During the Session, our young innovators will learn about the design process, new technologies and various analog and digital tools (such as 3D printing and laser cutting) to create amazing work.
Theme & Topics
In Summer 2018, we will time-travel into the future to explore life on earth and outer space. We’ll imagine the spaces we’ll be inhibiting and use our predictions to design, engineer and build inventions to help us live sustainably, healthily and productively in these intriguing, complex, and multifunctional Future Worlds.
This Summer, our PreVu theme is "Future Worlds Jr!" Each week, our PreVu kids will explore this theme through a number of topics. From flying objects to music making machines to coding food, kids will be making and designing each week! In each week's Studio, NuVu Coaches will frame the challenge within a larger topic and encourage kids to develop their ideas through an iterative process over the course of the activity. Throughout the program, kids will enhance their problem solving, collaboration and making skills, and with persistence, they will learn to think big and deeply about the world and people around them.
Summer 2018 PreVu begins on Saturday, July 21, 2018 and continues until Saturday, August 11, 2018. PreVu includes 4 Sessions. Each Session takes place on Saturdays from 1pm to 3pm. The Studio Sessions are open to kids ages 5 to 7. This is a drop-off program. Parents are required to remain off-site for the duration of the two hours. The cost of the program is $280 for all four sessions.
