Spring 2018 PreVu
Open to : Ages 5-7

PreVu is a studio-based experience to unleash young kids’ creativity and imagination.

NuVu is a place where young students grow their spirit of innovation. Immersed in our design process, students use their curiosity and creativity to explore new ideas and make their concepts come to life. Our model is based on the architecture studio model. For each program, we use imaginative themes to frame activities in which students dive into hands-on design, engineering, science, technology, art and more!

This Spring, we are beginning the fifth season of PreVu, our kids program for young innovators. In each Session, kids (ages 5-7) will be introduced to a real-world problem and use their creative problem solving, critical thinking and innovation skills to make and build solutions. During the Session, our young innovators will learn about the design process, new technologies and various analog and digital tools (such as 3D printing and laser cutting) to create amazing work.

UPDATE: Spring 2018 PreVu is full. If you’d like to be added to our newsletter to receive updates on future programs, please email us at kids@nuvustudio.org.

Theme & Topics

Storytelling is the heart of our civilization. Through words, sounds and images we’ve shared stories for thousands of years. Spreading to generations beyond the storytellers’ imagination, these stories give us the means to express ideas, entertain, preserve traditions, even educate.

This Spring, our PreVu theme is ‘Storytelling!’ Kids will explore this theme through a number of topics each week. From mapping objects to creating motion picture machines to coding their food, kids will be making and designing each week! In each Studio, NuVu Coaches will frame the challenge within a larger topic and encourage kids to develop their ideas through an iterative process over the course of the activity. Throughout the program, kids will enhance their problem solving, collaboration and making skills, and with persistence, they will learn to think big and deeply about the world and people around them.

Spring 2018 PreVu begins on Saturday, February 3, 2018 and continues until Saturday, April 7, 2018. PreVu includes 10 Sessions. Each Session takes place on Saturdays from 1pm to 3pm. All Studios are open to kids ages 5 to 7. This is a drop-off program. Parents are required to remain off-site for the duration of the two hours.
