Fall 2019 PreVu & PreVu 2
Open to : Ages 5-10

PreVu is a studio-based experience to unleash young kids’ creativity and imagination.

NuVu is a place where young students grow their spirit of innovation. Immersed in our design process, students use their curiosity and creativity to explore new ideas and make their concepts come to life. Our model is based on the architecture studio model. For each program, we use imaginative themes to frame activities in which students dive into hands-on design, engineering, science, technology, art and more!

This Fall, we are beginning the tenth season of PreVu (wow, how time has flown!), our kids program for young innovators. We'll have both our PreVu (ages 5-7) and PreVu 2 (ages 8-10) programs taking place side-by-side on Sundays this Fall.

In each of the Sunday Sessions of PreVu and PreVu 2, kids will be introduced to a real-world problem and use their creative problem solving, critical thinking and innovation skills to make and build solutions. During the Session, our young innovators will learn about the design process, new technologies and various analog and digital tools (such as 3D printing and laser cutting) to create amazing work.

Theme & Topics

This Fall our theme is "Objects of Play" and we'll explore how play is infused in everyday and unusual objects become part of our interactions. We'll explore ideas of scale, basic shapes and structures that allow us to construct experiences around play.

Kids will explore this theme through a number of topics each week. From designing games for kids to toys for animals to games for adults, kids will be making and designing each week! In each Session, NuVu Coaches will frame the challenge within a larger topic and encourage kids to develop their ideas through an iterative process over the course of the activity. Throughout the program, kids will enhance their problem solving, collaboration and making skills, and with persistence, they will learn to think big and deeply about the world and people around them.

Fall 2019 PreVu and PreVu 2 begin on Sunday, October 13, 2019 and continues until Sunday, December 15, 2019 (Holiday on December 1, 2019). PreVu and PreVu 2 each include 9 Sessions. Each Session takes place on Sundays from 1pm to 3pm. All Studios are open to kids ages 5 to 10. PreVu is open to kids ages 5-7, and PreVu 2 is open to kids ages 8-10. This is a drop-off program. Parents are required to remain off-site for the duration of the two hours.

A maximum of 7 students will be accepted for each program (7 for PreVu and 7 for PreVu 2). Because enrollment is limited, we recommend that you register and send your final payment as soon as possible.

Final payments must be made by check and received in full by October 10, 2019 otherwise the student’s spot will be forfeited to another student on the waitlist. After October 10, families can still register for Fall 2019 PreVu or PreVu 2, but final payments must be made immediately after the online registration is completed.
