  • Have you ever had a cool idea for a robot that you wanted to make, but didn’t know how? Perhaps a robot that swats flies? Or a genie robot that grants you wishes? You will invent a robot that solves problems for the future, or just does something really fun! No need to come with prior knowledge. In ten exciting days, we’ll show you how!

In this studio, students will learn the basics of fabrication, electronics, microcontrollers, and computer programming and build on their existing knowledge. You will also learn how to integrate your robot with external sensors (from simple switches and buttons to heat/temperature, light, gas, touch) and actuators (such as motors, lights, speakers, solenoids, valves, fans) to allow them to turn their ideas into Nutopian robots.

    Focus Skills/Subjects/Technologies:

       Physics (Electricity, Magnetism)

       Robotics (Arduino, Sensors, Actuators)

       Digital Fabrication (Laser-cutting, 3d Printing)

       3d Modeling

    • Enrolling students must be between the ages of 11 to 13 (or grades 6-8)
