History is all around us in people’s experiences and memories of the past. There is no better time than now to document their memories and reflections in order to learn from them and ensure that future generations can learn from them, too.

Oral history is a method for doing exactly this! In this workshop, students will learn how to carry out oral history interviews and will start doing so with people in their families or community. Our goal will be to put together a booklet of the personal testimonials that we collected and to give students the tools they need to continue to gather and preserve the voices of Syrians in Reyhanli and beyond, long after the workshop ends.
