As customers begin to turn to online options for their  their groceries, Publix supermarkets must both innovate and maintain  what they do best: continue to be a premier quality food retailer. You  will be introducing Publix to swarm robots to enhance the buying  experience for all shoppers. What is a swarm robot? These are bots that  respond to shoppers and coordinate with each other to increase the  positive sides of the IRL/ brick and mortar shopping experience and over  the expediency of online shopping. Beyond the convenience of delivery,  what are the other reasons people shop online? Can we take those  conveniences and create bots that extend beyond their current  capabilities? These bots that will help you find the ingredients for a  meal, they'll suggest and even fetch products you might need, they'll  pinch all the avocados for you so you can find the perfect one, they'll  even hold your groceries for you. Trying to avoid a certain cookie  aisle? They'll make sure you don't even see it. Students in this studio  will use Arduinos and simple sensors and effectors to create bots that  simulate the collaborate elements of swarm behavior.
